Functions Of The Board

 

 
The functions of the Board, as set out in Section 36 of the Act, are:
 
   
(a) To advise and make recommendations to the Minister in respect to any matter affecting the education and registration of architects  
(b)
To prescribe courses of training and instruction to be undergone by candidates for recognised certificates
 
(c)
To prescribe the practical experience which applicants for registration under this Act who are holders of recognised certificates granted in New Zealand must possess
 
(d) To make such other provision for training, education, and examination of persons practising or intending to practise the profession of architecture in New Zealand or elsewhere as it thinks fit  
(e) To prepare and publish from time to time a code of practice and professional conduct to be observed by architects  
(f) To consider applications for registration under this Act  
(g) To exercise disciplinary powers in accordance with the provisions of the Act  
(h) To carry out such other functions and to exercise such other powers as are conferred on it
